Overseas Mission

Each year, Overseas Missions to developing countries give people the chance to serve in schools, hospitals, local villages and cities, being involved in social justice, in social action, and in sharing with those they meet the difference their faith has made to them.

The aim of Overseas Mission is to work alongside Christians and for team members to grow through:

• Experiencing the challenge of mission
• Gaining a world perspective on the Kingdom of God
• Developing, gifts skills and faith

Mission takes place in a team with those you journey with and those you encounter. Members find themselves working in unusual surroundings, situations and with people they don't know. The mission experience stretches you in many ways.

As part of a team, members use their gifts and skills in teaching, drama and singing, outreach in churches, schools, orphanages etc, to speak about the good news, and being involved in social action. It is our aim to contribute towards the development of the whole person. Each day, time is set aside for team devotions, feedback, further training and development.

Ascension Trust believes that the potential exists in everyone to develop and be all that God wants them to be. Mission can be one very significant means of achieving that goal. Whatever your experience, age or background, we want to help you to reach that potential and fulfil your destiny.
