Tarna-Renae Morris

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”– Jeremiah 29:11

I am Tarna-Renae
The future is our young people, over my 10 years of experience working with young people from many different walks of life I believe that God has called me to help to facilitate avenues to help equip and release ordinary young people to do extraordinary things and live extraordinary lives.

Our future is bright, we have exciting events that will be ongoing in and around our Kings Acre Hub. We are raising up the next entrepreneurs, lawyers, psychologists, doctors, ministers and so much more.
I look forward to meeting with you.

Hi I’m Peter I work for Young Life international one of the organisations who partner with 60/40.
After attending my very first ever youth program organised by YL Brixton, I was nicely surprised to see how everything was set up with the young people in mind, fun guaranteed. In all honesty, I think the godly element at the end of the day is what really sold Young Life to me.
I really liked the idea that they desire for the gospel to be shared in such an inviting way, which made it easy for me to relate. I liked that the gospel is at the full front of what Young Life is about no matter the activity, God will still be preached/shared at the end of that fun day.
Not only that, to see young people coming together from different parts of London and different backgrounds, is a blessing. They come for the fun element and go back with the gospel, what an exchange that is!

The 60/40 project runs a Wednesday club for the youth in the area where they have a safe space to be themselves and where they can learn and grow.
We run activities during the school holidays, including BMX biking in Brockwell Park, a day trip to whey island, and our first-ever local camp in Brixton, Camp in Scotland, had go-karting, escape rooms, and so much more!

I have worked as a youth worker at Clapham Youth Centre since 1989 together with my husband, Charles. We had no children at that point. Our oldest is now 30. We often look back at where we began and relive some very scary experiences that we have been through along the way but which helped to make us the youth workers we are today. We have always loved working with the young people along and around Lyham Road and to stand by them no matter what, seeing them through good times and bad and learning and sharing resilience with them.

Lots of interests…I am a ballet dancer and run my own property business. I love God very, very much and am always keen to let those around me know that He makes all the difference in the world to me!! I have 4 children, a super husband and a cat called Luna.

I have been working with young people in the
Church music team for many years however I branched out to other youth work when my daughter was a teenager. I observed that when adults are going through difficult times it is often young people’s needs which get neglected. My passion is to ensure that young people are not forgotten. Although I love music and table tennis, I would say my communication/ listening skills are most important in working with young people.

As a teenager, I benefited from youth groups like these and would love to pass on my experience to others while I still can.

Hobbies include sport, anime and the occasional piano!
