Urban Mission is an initiative of Ascension Trust that seeks to impact our young people. It is an unique opportunity for young people aged 13 to 17 to come together, meet and share, learn and develop their gifts. It's about making a difference, standing out from the crowd, and having an impact for a generation.

The aim is to provide an opportunity for young people to come together, receive training, and inspiration, serving in an urban context with an urban flavour.

In 2008 Urban Mission ran for two non-residential days at Clapham Baptist Church. The programme included worship, teaching, games and fun, but with a focus on social action, with young people working in a homeless centre, visiting the elderly or meeting those with dementia.

In later years, the programmes has been residential, and has challenged the young people to get into the community, getting involved in gardening and car washes, as well as participating in open air outreach events in the local area.

The feedback has been positive. As Annaliza Forson says "I am always blessed each time I go to Urban Mission".
